February 11, 2013 - Parker Posey Tapped for New NBC Show
NBC has cast Christina Ricci and Parker Posey to star in two new comedy pilots the network is considering for the new season.
Posey will take the female lead in an upcoming comedy from DJ Nash. The sitcom, from Nash and Jason Bateman, will focus on “a son who idolizes his blind father and is bemused by his mother’s (Posey) newfound adolescence who watches his family come closer together post-divorce,” according to the report.
November 4, 2012 - Parker Posey Turned Down Girl, Interrupted Role
Parker Posey turned down the role in Girl, Interrupted which won Angelina Jolie an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
The Dazed and Confused star was one of the actresses being courted for the part of sociopath Lisa Rowe in the 1999 drama, which also featured Winona Ryder and Whoopi Goldberg, but Posey confesses she didn’t want to figure out her complicated character so she rejected the chance to audition.
She tells Cnn.com, “What I did pass on that may surprise you is Girl, Interrupted. The Angelina Jolie role… I just didn’t care enough about it. I don’t know. There was something about it. They probably wanted me to audition and I didn’t feel like doing it, or maybe they wanted me to jump through hoops and I didn’t feel like doing it.
“Honestly, I just didn’t care about it enough to be grounded in it… And she won the Academy Award! Isn’t that funny?”

Did you see Louie last night? Really, you didn’t? Well, you need to watch it, like now. I know, I know you may be sick of it because everyone is always blathering on about what a genius that Louis C.K. is and how his show is the best thing on all of damn television, but it really was that good. Normally I like the show enough, but I find it very hit or miss. Well, last night was a big hit, and it had nothing to do with Louis. All that anyone is going to be talking about is Parker Posey. Why, oh why, is this indie darling not a super huge star by now?

January 10, 2012 - Sundance 2012: Parker Posey to Host Film Festival Awards Ceremony
With preparations for the awards season in full swing, bits and pieces of information are beginning to come out of the woodwork regarding specific details to all of our favorite award shows and festivals. For example, the Sundance Institute announced today that Parker Posey will serve as the host of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Awards Ceremony, which is set to take place on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. MT.
It makes sense that they would chose Posey to host. Once named “Queen of the Indies” by Time Magazine, the actress/writer has appeared in over a dozen films at Sundance throughout the years, including Party Girl (1995), House of Yes (1997) and Broken English (2007). Additionally, Posey will also appear in Price Check in the out-of-competition Premieres section at this year’s Festival. So, as you can see, she’s quite familiar with the process. Congrats, Ms. Posey, on receiving such an honor!
